Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
(Matthew 9:17 NIV)
He expects you to change.
So that what He has given you remains.
What He has poured into you is for purpose.
Without change you cannot sustain what He has given you.
Your flesh will war against your spirit.
The culture of this age is at odds with the Heavenly culture.
You will need to change.
There are no two ways about it.
You are meant to change.
No-one is meant to stay the same.
The Holy Spirit will help you change for the better.
This is not because someone tells you to.
Nor just because the Bible tells you so.
But because you need to.
It is for your benefit.
This is necessary to receive your full inheritance.
If you do not give yourself to Him completely it will tear you apart.
Surrendering fully will make the process less painful and less traumatic.
Whatever your ministry is you will also need to examine how you live.
It is power and it is character.
They both go together.
It is not an either or.
If you want God to use you.
Humble yourself.
Do this every day, at every moment of every day.
You are in this for the long haul not a quick sprint.
His responsibility is to fill you with this new wine.
Your responsibility is to be a new wineskin.
If you are not willing to change you will burst at the seams.
That is not a good thing…
