“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
(John 11v27 NIV)

I think Martha had finally got where He was going with this.
Martha declared exactly who He was and is.
She didn’t have the words put in her mouth.

This was inspired by the Holy Spirit.
She understood, she knew.
I have a feeling that she was suddenly at peace.

She realised part of the significance of what was happening.
Or at least that there was something bigger happening than the death of her brother.
Our own limited understanding can cloud our spirits.

Life’s circumstances can overcome and overwhelm us all too easily.
Making a declaration like Martha changed everything.
Jesus wanted her to say it not just think it or feel it.

Speak out loud what you believe.
Even if it is only you that hears.
At least one person is listening.

But I think more are listening to your words.
Your words are powerful.
Your motives, desires and intentions are critical.

Speak.
It will change your life.
It will change the live’s of others around you.

Go and live the life He always intended you to have.
