Now Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still at the place where Martha had met him.
(John 11v30 NIV)
Jesus was never in a rush.
He was never overwhelmed by the pressure nor the emotion of the moment.
But why was He hesitating or what was He waiting for?
Had Martha said something else to Him?
Who knows?
Was He waiting for Mary away from the mourners and others?
Had something else happened or was happening?
Whatever the reason don’t be swayed by the emotion of the moment but be convinced by your faith.
He created us to be emotional beings but that does not give us an excuse to be ruled by them.
If God says wait then wait.
If God has said something will happen and it hasn’t yet, then wait.
If God has told you to do something but the opportunity hasn’t arisen then wait.
Where there is a sense of urgency that does not mean panic.
