and many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them in the loss of their brother.
(John 11v19 NIV)

The atmosphere around their home must have been supercharged with emotion.
It was feeding on itself.
Disappointment was heaped on disappointment.

Surrounded by grief and failure.
Life must have seemed very bleak for the sisters.
Yet there was just the glimmer of hope.

Jesus.
But where was He?
If only…

Your hope even though feels lost is not misplaced.
You are a person of hope.
He is the God of hope.

Your are His child.
Let Him be your hope against all the odds.
Believe in Him, no matter what.

His word to you is sure.
The world mourns because it doesn’t know what else to do.
The comfort of the world is very appealing.

It feels real and so right.
It is what is expected.
To not join in is to possibly miss out.

Let Him be the judge of that.
He doesn’t share your hopelessness.
He is not called the God of all hope for nothing.
