When the Jews who had been with Mary in the house, comforting her, noticed how quickly she got up and went out, they followed her, supposing she was going to the tomb to mourn there.
(John 11v31 NIV)

The mourners were often paid to do this.
They were professionals who knew their role.
There are still cultures around the world who practice this.

It may seem strange to us but it is not so unusual.
Others may have been there out of a genuine desire to comfort Mary.
She was clearly beside herself with grief.

They knew that she was emotionally charged.
They probably guessed that they were going to have to act quickly if they were to keep up with her.
People make assumptions about you and your motives.

You may well do the same to people.
We only have the tiniest bit of someone’s story.
But we make huge sweeping judgements on people.

Only He knows the full story.
He knows their heart.
And yours.

You can only guess.
You may not even know your own heart.
Ask Him to reveal people to you so that you see them from His perspective.

Be willing to change your perspective.
Be willing to change your heart.
He will show you.

He is willing to help you.
