“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? (Matthew 18:12)
He will always bring you back.
For He is your shepherd but are you willing?
He doesn’t coerce nor force.
You are His child.
Sheep of His flock.
This is to His glory, joy and delight that you enjoy the pasture He leads you to.
Don’t wander off.
He will have to leave the others and go looking for you.
Time is wasted.
You are meant to be productive.
Not putting yourself in danger.
This is the time to stay close to Him.
Not just following the herd.
Nor doing your own thing.
Be part of the herd.
But let Him be your shepherd.
Your protector.
He is always for you.
Willing to look after you and provide.
Stay in the pasture that He gives you.
The other grass looks greener from a distance.
But it is fraught with dangers.
Don’t expect to escape hurt.
There is pain and loneliness.
Don’t avoid the truth.
The truth is meant to keep you safe.
Free from harm.
There is enough for you here.
To satisfy you.
Everything else can look so inviting.
Looking more interesting or exciting.
Whatever it is only He can truly satisfy.
You will go hungry.
You will be thirsty.
But He will satisfy both.
Fulfilling you and filling you.
