When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. (Matthew 13v19 NIV)
This is talking about a state of readiness.
Many dismiss anything new.
If it doesn’t fit comfortably into their world view.
Everyone has the capacity to understand the mystery of the gospel.
For some their minds are dulled through repetitive hearing.
They don’t want to hear, they don’t want to understand.
It has everything to do with your free will.
He never takes it from you.
Surrender means you are willing.
If you pray the pray that peoples eyes and ears will be open.
Pray that they will understand.
The ground was already hard, it was a path.
It is not for you to decide that someone is hardhearted.
Speak, pray and fast for them.
Believe that they are important and that there is always hope.
Pray that the seed will not be snatched away.
Jesus is not writing people off.
He is explaining why people respond differently.
It is a warning non-the-less.
Believe and do not let doubt get a foothold.
