They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of Israel!”
(John 12v13 NIV)
They thought the Messiah was going to be king of Israel.
That Jesus was going to challenge the status quo .
They saw old testament prophecies come alive.
They saw Him as a possible religious, cultural, political and military leader.
The crowd was in a frenzy of excitement.
It was bordering on a riot.
Where were all these people when Jesus was on trial?
Were they the same ones wanting Him crucified?
Do we worship Jesus on a Sunday but on Monday morning we worship something or someone else?
If you love Jesus let it show.
That doesn’t mean bash them with the gospel.
It isn’t good news if it gives them a headache.
Bless everyone in your workplace.
Even those who annoy you.
Especially those who you don’t get on with.
Don’t join in with criticising of others.
Don’t stay silent, speak the good in them.
Release your blessing over others.
Whether they deserve it or not.
Nobody is good enough to deserve it.
Least of all you and me.
Change the atmosphere wherever you go.
Make Sunday count for something.
Make your life count for something.
Monday morning should be where the world meets Jesus.
