When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home.
(John 11v20 NIV)
Notice Martha was the one who went.
This is such a contrast to when Mary was the one sitting at His feet.
This was a reversal of roles.
Martha was now the pragmatic one.
Mary was the one overcome with emotion.
Whatever you may think about Martha she was the one who went to see Jesus.
Be kind to yourself.
Especially if you identify more with Martha than with Mary.
Don’t condemn others, Jesus doesn’t.
Go to meet Him.
Go to where He is if He hasn’t come to you.
Even if you have deep reservations or doubts.
He is the one who loves you the most.
He loves you deeply.
Without reservation.
No one loves you like He does, not even yourself.
