Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance.
(John 11v38 NIV)
Unless you have never read the scriptures or heard the story you should know what happens next.
But no-one there really knew what to expect.
But they were expectant or intrigued.
Jesus seemed to be coming apart.
He was acting emotionally.
He seemed to be struggling.
He normally was very confident and self-assured.
This was clearly a struggle for Jesus.
He had to fight through His emotions.
The atmosphere was emotionally charged.
This was His friend.
These were His family.
They loved and adored Him and He loved them too.
It was clearly weighing heavily on Him.
If you find the process difficult.
Take heart.
If you are struggling with letting go.
Be encouraged.
He will help you through.
Keep your eyes on the One who has been through it all.
He knows and understands what you are going through.
He doesn’t despise weakness.
He doesn’t criticise emotions.
But He won’t give into your feelings any more than He gave into His.
Draw your strength from Him.
Because He is your strength.
