When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
(John 11v32 NIV)
Don’t get religious with Jesus.
Get to the point.
Address the issue.
Mary echoed Martha.
They shared the same complaint.
Do you adopt other people’s values rather than your own.
This was what had been burning in Mary’s heart.
She knew He could’ve prevented this from happening.
She had seen and heard Him do miracles.
They were confused.
It didn’t make sense.
It was if Jesus had deliberately abandoned them.
They knew He could heal the sick.
They were probably aware that He could raise the dead.
They weren’t wrong.
They didn’t have a bad attitude.
Their hearts were far from hard and yet they were struggling with this.
So don’t beat yourself up if you don’t understand.
You are in good company.
Just don’t stay there.
Be honest with Him and yourself.
Some call it being real.
Whatever you want to call be honest with Him.
But never give in to bitterness and walk away.
Remind yourself that He loves you with a passion.
Greater than any other love.
So go to Him and talk to Him.
Testimonies of His goodness are for your benefit.
If they are relevant claim them for yourself.
Feed yourself with hope.
They are meant to encourage you.
He sent them so you would believe.
They are not random acts.
